Michael Gray Funeral Program
On February 19th of 2017 Michael Gray was struck down at a housewarming party. We met his grandparents when they came in to order programs for a true celebration of the life that was and, as we would find out through this process, the impact he had on his friends and his community in such a short time here.
Big Mike became the point of contact for us on this. A man proud of his grandson. Thankfully for us, he was also a pretty great photographer too. We received substantially more pictures that we are used to placing in a simple fold over program.
Generally we have 5-10 photos in a spread on one page. Maybe a panel, maybe an insert, but that’s a good round average. Big Mike gave us 97. So the program evolved into more of a 12 page picture album celebrating Michael.
His time was short, and we may never have met, but his impact was felt. We quickly began growing the quantity of books needed. We created some one sheet versions of the cover and order of service to capture any overflow from the estimated amount of people, and created signs friends could hold up while speaking about Michael. It was impossible to not feel connected to the family and Michael while working on this.
Thankfully we’ve gained new friends in his grandparents who graciously, and unprompted mind you, asked us to use his program to advertise our services. Heck, Big Mike swings by when he’s in town just to give us a big hug. We’ll never complain about that. #wearemikegray
